The Cardiff Lions RFC (Clwb Rygbi Llewod Caerdydd) is Wales’ first and only gay and gay friendly rugby squad.

Founded on 1st March 2004, the squad has gone from strength to strength and has competed in tournaments both nationally and internationally. Following our highly successful participation in the 2006 Bingham Cup, the Lions are now looking forward to the 2008 Cup, to be hosted by the Emerald Warriors in Dublin in June 2008.

The Cardiff Lions cater for people of varying rugby ability, and would love to hear from you if you have an interest in playing, supporting or sponsoring the team. Our squad members come from diverse backgrounds and have a range of playing ability, so whether you’re a beginner who simply wants to train with us to get fit, or it you have some serious rugby experience you could add to our arsenal, please get in touch.

The Lions were admitted as members of the International Gay Rugby Association and Board in 2006 and are affiliated to the Welsh Rugby Union.
